About instruments

Handpan or hang

An amazing instrument, resembling a flying saucer and producing divine sounds that are hard to associate with metal. The handpan is a musical instrument that combines melody and percussion, offering the ability to create meditative music as well as vibrant dance rhythms. It is easy to learn but holds great depth — the potential to develop fine musicality and intuition in a person.
The first of the handpans was the Hang, which, in Bernese dialect of German, means "hand." This name is still often used to refer to the entire family of instruments, but in reality, it is just the trademark of Swiss-made instruments. The global community of performers on the Hang and similar instruments decided to call all instruments from this family "handpans." The creators of the first Hang are Sabina Scherer and Felix Rohner.
Handpan lessons develop memory, thinking, and coordination. You absorb an increasing amount of information and establish a connection between the visual channel, memory, and movements.
At the same time, you enjoy the sounds, relax, and establish a connection not only with your body but also with your soul. You enter a meditative state easily, thanks to the unique sound and unusual shape of the instrument. You will be able to perform self-meditations quite soon. With proper attention to learning, you will also be able to create meditations for others.
We will help you choose a high-quality instrument that won’t get out of tune during the first week of learning, as long as safety techniques are followed.
In the hectic and fast-paced times we live in, the handpan is an opportunity to stop and hear the incredible sound, then listen to yourself and allow yourself to express your energy through unique music. Playing the handpan is a wonderful gift of contact with the invisible, yet important.
RAV Vast is a steel tongue drum inspired by the hang. It was created in Russia by Andrey Vladimirovich Remyannikov (RAV — the initials of the master) in 2013. The RAV Vast has a longer sustain, which is convenient for playing meditative music, and a resonant surface, making it interesting for percussion techniques. Additionally, this instrument is more affordable, as well as more resistant to deformation and pitch changes caused by clumsy playing or strikes.

Bowls

Singing bowls, often referred to as Tibetan bowls, have been used for centuries in the Himalayas to improve physical and mental health. The properties of sound vibration have long intrigued people and are used as a tool for preventing and healing negative states, as well as for restoring the body after injuries.
Sound baths, contact massage with bowls, and sound meditation are the methods mastered by Lydia Igolnikova. They can be found in the "Additional Services" and "Events" sections. Lydia is also a representative in Samara of the large international Soundyoga school, which makes it possible to undergo training with bowls in Samara.
